Following the victory achieved last Monday evening at San Siro against Fiorentina, which allowed Inter to get within one point of league leaders Napoli, Simone Inzaghi finally afforded his team a day of absolute rest. In fact, it was only yesterday that the team resumed training at Appiano Gentile.
This is a rarity for the Piacentino coach in a season filled with fixtures every 3-4 days. It has been three months since Inter had a full week of work, without any midweek commitments between the league or various cup competitions. This is something the team earned on the field, managing to gain direct access to the Champions League round of 16, avoiding the annoying playoffs.
For this reason, both this week and next, Inzaghi will work calmly at Appiano Gentile, without forcing the recovery of his key players between league commitments. After this period, however, the schedule will become very dense: after the match on February 22 against Genoa, the quarterfinals of the Coppa Italia against Lazio will take place on the 25th; the following weekend will be the direct clash with Napoli, a few days before the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 scheduled between March 4 and 5.
