Inter has triumphed in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, gaining a slight advantage ahead of the return match. In the first leg at Allianz Arena, the Nerazzurri won 2-1 against Bayern Munich, and now the qualification match will be played on Wednesday, April 16 at San Siro.
What will Inter need this evening to officially secure their passage to the Champions League semifinals? First of all, Inzaghi’s squad will have two out of three possible outcomes: either a draw or a win will directly qualify them for the next round.
However, if Inter were to lose by just one goal difference, the match would first proceed to extra time. Should the difference remain unchanged after extra time, the match will go to penalty kicks. Bayern Munich must win by two goals or more within regular time to advance to the semifinals.
