Inter ends its training camp in Germany today with the second friendly match, scheduled for 4:30 pm in Donaueschingen against Karlsruhe, a team from the German second division. For Cristian Chivu, it will be an opportunity to raise the level of competition and assess the progress made during the work carried out in recent days.
On Wednesday, the Nerazzurri will leave for Hong Kong, where they will face Manchester City. Afterwards, two more friendlies are scheduled against Juventus and Milan, useful appointments to get closer to the start of the season.
As written by La Gazzetta dello Sport, against Karlsruhe the coach will be able to use almost all the called-up players. Massolin and Kristjan Asllani will not be available, both dealing with a muscle strain that could also put their departure for the East at risk.
The friendly could offer new playing time to Benjamin Pavard in the defensive department. The Frenchman, back from his loan at Marseille, is trying to convince the coach and the club to confirm him in the Nerazzurri squad.
In midfield, Aleksandar Stankovic should be employed, while on the right wing Diouf could get some minutes. In attack, the guarantee remains Pio Esposito, who could be joined by 2007-born Idrissou or 2006-born Topalovic, who arrived four days ahead of his teammates.
Amid experiments, assessments, and still open hierarchies, the test against Karlsruhe represents an important step in building Chivu’s new Inter.
