While Milan and Juventus fail to achieve qualification for the Champions League, Inter confirms its place in the top European competition and will continue next season to earn very important points in the ranking that leads to the next Club World Cup in 2029. This is a highly prestigious competition, with global visibility, and also extremely lucrative, considering that with a short US tour the Nerazzurri club took home over 30 million euros last year, while the winning Chelsea side earned over 100 million.

The Calcio&Finanza portal provides an update on the current ranking:

  1. Arsenal – 110 points*
  2. PSG – 104 points* (already qualified for winning the 2024/25 Champions League)
  3. Bayern Munich – 93 points
  4. Barcelona – 92 points
  5. Liverpool – 78 points
  6. Inter – 76 points
  7. Real Madrid – 75 points
  8. Atletico Madrid – 75 points
  9. Borussia Dortmund – 58 points
  10. Bayer Leverkusen – 57 points

*are still in the Champions League and can improve their current ranking.

The European teams qualified for the World Cup remain at 12 for now: the four that win the Champions League in 2025, 2026, 2027, and 2028, plus the eight best based on the ranking (which increases accordingly if a team wins the Champions League more than once in the years considered). Next season, that is 2026/2027, will be the third and therefore the penultimate of the cycle that will be taken into account for the 2029 World Cup. Considering the limit of two teams per nation (which can only be exceeded if one or more teams win the Champions League), Inter is clearly ahead and almost certain of qualification. Here is how the others are currently positioned:

13. Atalanta – 46 points
16. Juventus – 43 points
27. Milan – 22 points
38. Napoli – 11 points
44. Bologna – 9 points

Atalanta would currently be the second Italian team qualified.
