Inter celebrated Goran Pandev‘s birthday today, as he turns 43. The Nerazzurri club published a message on its website to remember the Macedonian striker’s contribution to winning the Treble in 2010.

Born in Strumica on July 27, 1983, Pandev grew up in Inter’s youth academy after arriving in Italy in 2001 at the age of 18. With the Nerazzurri Primavera he enjoyed a season full of success, winning the league and the Viareggio Tournament in 2002. After experiences with Spezia, Ancona, and Lazio, he returned to Milan in January 2010.

His return proved to be a decisive addition to the team’s tactical setup. The Macedonian made 69 appearances and scored 8 goals in the Nerazzurri shirt, giving fans unforgettable moments. Among these, the free-kick goal in the derby on January 24, 2010, won 2-0 against Milan, and the stoppage-time goal against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena in the round of 16 of the 2010/11 Champions League, which proved decisive for advancing to the next round after an extraordinary comeback.

Since his return to Milan, Pandev has won six trophies: one Scudetto, two Coppa Italia, one Italian Super Cup, the Club World Cup, and the 2010 Champions League. The club described the Macedonian as “humble, quiet but full of talent and football intelligence,” highlighting his fundamental role in winning the Treble.
