From Australia, where the team is preparing for friendlies against Milan and Juventus, Jamal Idrissou spoke to Sky Sport. The 2007-born striker, one of the young players included in the summer tour, talked about his dreams and his development path in the Nerazzurri youth sector.

“I am a cheerful guy who always tries to help everyone,” began the Italy Under-19 international. About his role models, he added: “As a child it was Icardi, now it’s Thuram.” Then he expressed all his joy for this experience: “It’s a fantastic, unexpected experience. Being here with these champions is the dream I had as a child, a dream come true.”

Looking to the future, Idrissou has clear ideas: “I am very proud of the path I am taking. I would like to find consistency in the first team, I know it’s difficult. But I want to approach the world of the grown-ups by doing better than what I am doing now.” And imagining himself in ten years, he revealed: “The dream is to win trophies like the great champions of today’s Inter. Maybe win the Scudetto and the Champions League.”

The young striker emphasized the importance of having more experienced teammates who grew up in the youth academy: “It’s very important to have such players by my side, the one who is helping me the most is Pio Esposito. I know him because we used to take the same route to get to Interello in the youth teams. He’s always available, ready to lend me a hand. I see him as an older brother, he’s great.”

About his journey with the National Team, he said: “I started quite late, from the Under-18s. Now I’m in the Under-19s, I was lucky enough to play in the Under-20 World Cup as a younger player. It didn’t go perfectly, but it was an unforgettable experience. Then I played in the European Championship with the Under-19s, we had a wonderful journey. Who knows what awaits me now.”

On the advice received from Chivu, he explained: “He always tells me to stay calm and relaxed, to play as I know how. He always tries to help me, I’m happy about that.” Finally, on the possibility of facing high-level teams: “A wonderful feeling, almost indescribable. I’m living a dream, I feel immense happiness. Tomorrow there’s the derby which, even though it’s a friendly, is always a derby. I struggle to find the right words.”
