This afternoon, with the Monte Carlo draw scheduled for 6:00 PM, the new league phase of the Uefa Champions League will be born. The same format inaugurated for the first time in the previous edition will be used again, with as many as 36 participating teams divided into four different pots. Each club will be assigned eight different rivals (two from each pot) to face in this first part of the competition.
After the record haul of over 130 million euros collected in the last edition, Inter is ready to further fill its coffers with the upcoming Champions League. Thanks to its mere participation in the Champions League 2025/26, for example, the Nerazzurri club has already secured a mega bonus of almost 51 million euros, the highest amount among the four Italian teams in play, as reported by Calcio e Finanza.
This is the breakdown of the bonuses already obtained by Inter with qualification for the league phase alone, achieved by finishing second in last season’s Serie A:
- Participation: 18.62 million euros
- European share: 23.37 million
- Non-European share: 8.65 million
- Minimum ranking position: 0.275 million
- TOTAL: 50.915 million
To these, bonuses will be added depending on Inter’s performance in the next eight matches: each win will bring the Nerazzurri 2.1 million, while draws will be worth 700,000 euros. An important extra prize is also provided depending on the final ranking: last year’s fourth place, for example, yielded 9.7 million euros, plus 13 million for direct qualification to the round of 16.
As for the other Italian teams in the Champions League, Juventus has secured 46 million with qualification alone, Atalanta 45.2, and Napoli 43.5.
