Among the doubts about the formation that accompany Inter’s eve in view of the match against Napoli, there is certainly one related to who will start as the right midfielder. Simone Inzaghi has not yet made a decision, but there seems to be a clear favorite.

Denzel Dumfries, in fact, is ahead of Matteo Darmian. According to Corriere dello Sport, the reason is not only related to the current form of the Dutchman, who was among the best on the field in the Champions League match against Arsenal, but also for two additional reasons.

The first has to do with last Wednesday’s match and the subsequent expenditure of energy. Darmian is more tired from the clash with the Gunners, where he was lined up on the left and effectively limited Bukayo Saka. Keeping the Italian on the bench would also mean having a card in-game in case there was a need for a substitution for Federico Dimarco, who is sure to start after the initial rest with Arsenal.

There would also be Tajon Buchanan, of course. The Canadian returned among the players called up for the Inter-Juventus match, but he never set foot on the field between the match against the Bianconeri and those against Empoli, Venezia, and Arsenal. For this reason, Inter-Napoli does not seem to be the most suitable game for a player who broke his tibia in July and hasn’t played an official match in five months the last appearance in Inter colors dates back to May 26.
