It has certainly been a problematic season for the right flank of Inter, plagued by injuries up to this point. While in the case of Denzel Dumfries the recovery time is still uncertain, starting from the Italian Super Cup in Riyadh, Cristian Chivu will at least be able to rely once again on Matteo Darmian.
Two and a half months after his last call-up, as reported this morning by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian winger will be available to the squad again. An extra option for the Inter coach, who in that position has rotated Luis Henrique, Diouf, and Carlos Augusto in recent matches, still managing to find some interesting ideas.
Here is the latest from the pink newspaper: “If for one winger the situation is quite complicated, for another the skies are finally clearing. The possibility of surgery on the ankle tendons for Denzel Dumfries is not ruled out, on the other hand Matteo Darmian is close to returning. He will not be in Genoa today, but it has been decided that he will rejoin the group after this match: the 36-year-old will therefore board the same plane as his teammates to Riyadh and could be called up for the Super Cup after two and a half months.”
