There were major protests from Inter during the second half of the derby, which is part of the 23rd matchday of Serie A, when Marcus Thuram was brought down in the AC Milan penalty area. The Frenchman was slid down by Theo Hernandez but also got a dubious intervention from Pavlovic.
This was confirmed by Luca Marelli, a referee expert for DAZN, highlighting the contact with Milan’s defender, and visibly saw the latter striking Thuram in the back. Here are his words on the incident:
I’ve reviewed all possible replays. Theo Hernandez’s contact is correct, because he plays the ball. There are many more doubts instead on the contact on Thuram’s left leg by Pavlovic. There is clear contact without any touch of the ball and we are in the penalty area.
