Cesc Fabregas does not hide his admiration for Inter. The Spanish coach, who in the past was very close to the Nerazzurri before the deal fell through, made important statements to Corriere dello Sport, highlighting the strength of the Italian champions and one of their main protagonists.
Asked which Serie A team plays a style of football similar to his own, Fabregas replied without hesitation: “Inter is the strongest in Italy. When I arrived, I studied them a lot, I often went to San Siro. Inter is the peak.” Words that confirm the Como coach’s respect for the Milanese side.
Not just the team, but also the individuals. Fabregas gave special praise to Lautaro Martinez: “I don’t play Fantacalcio, but if I did I would definitely pick Lautaro Martinez. For me, he is the strongest player in Serie A, a great leader.” A significant recognition for the Argentine striker, seen as the best in the Italian league in the eyes of the Catalan coach.
In the interview, Fabregas also spoke about the coaches who had the greatest impact on his career. José Mourinho and Antonio Conte were mentioned as reference figures: “Mourinho played with my mind, top. José really impressed me. He did something with me knowing it wouldn’t work with others. He’s too smart. Very good also Antonio Conte, a coach who—as we say in Spanish—no se casa con nadie, he doesn’t marry anyone, for him everyone is equal from the first to the last. He has a strong vision.”
