Genoa has secured a spot in the round of 16 of the Coppa Italia, where they will face Inter. For Daniele De Rossi, it will be an opportunity to meet Cristian Chivu again, his former teammate from his time at Roma.

Speaking to Sport Mediaset, the Grifone coach commented on the journey of the Nerazzurri manager: “We always keep in touch, I knew he had this passion and he had played against my father in the Primavera. He did well at Parma, but to go from doing well to winning the league and Coppa Italia in the first year is something that, in my opinion, will rarely be repeated.”

Genoa defeated Südtirol with a score of 1-0, thus earning the challenge against the Nerazzurri in the next round of the competition.
