Still affected by the back pain that has tormented his last few hours, Cristian Chivu appeared in front of the Dazn cameras with a slight delay precisely because of a massage he underwent before going to the mixed zone. The coach spoke about tonight’s comeback by Inter against Pisa and about the plans for this weekend, which will see him mainly busy with his family. These are his words:

SUBSTITUTION – “What did I think? That a match lasts a hundred minutes, that it can be turned around. The approach wasn’t bad, we conceded a counterattack where we basically scored on ourselves, but that’s my fault because I make certain requests and put Yann in difficulty. The fault is mine and not his. Then we conceded a goal from a set piece. Then we brought out a bit of pride, marching on quality and intensity and we managed to turn it around.”

COMEBACK – “What matters is the attitude, the mental preparation for the match. Then you are aware that you might also concede something, the important thing is how you react and we did that well today despite the difficulties. The team continued to do what it knows how to do, maybe the regret is not having scored the 4-2 right away but only at the end of the match. Hats off to these guys who give everything they have to have a competitive season and to show that this team is still working to achieve its goals.”

PIO ESPOSITO – “Pio’s growth? Credit to them, for how they work and make themselves available to the group, aware that every mistake they make is my responsibility. They are the protagonists, they work hard and try to please me, to best understand our requests. Credit to a boy who is very eager to prove himself, just like all his teammates do. If things don’t go well, the fault is and will only be mine because sometimes I go overboard with certain things.”

BACK PAIN – “I’ve filled myself with injections, painkillers, now I’ve even had cortisone. Also because tomorrow I have a day to spend with my daughters and they want me fresh and brand new. My wife also has requests because I’m resting, so I have to be ready to be the good husband and good father that I sometimes manage to be.”

JUVE-NAPOLI AND ROMA-MILAN – “This question again? I have a passion for football that goes beyond expertise, sometimes I’m tired because I watch so many matches, I always watch ours, then I watch the opponent. But I am aware that you have to watch matches to learn certain things. If I get the chance to watch, maybe I’ll manage to do it. The priority this weekend will be my family, I’ve been absent in recent months, I’m thinking too much because I dedicate so much time to these wonderful guys. I often neglect my duty as a husband and father, since they deserve it, you’ll allow me this as well. Sometimes you need to disconnect and rest, family always comes first.”
