A positive piece of news arrives from Appiano Gentile for Inter and for Cristian Chivu. Francesco Acerbi, in fact, has returned to training with his teammates and has recovered from the muscle problem that had kept him out for the past two weeks. The defender will therefore be available for the match against Bologna, with which the team will open the new year on January 4th.

According to Sky Sport, the former Lazio player took part in the entire training session with the rest of the group this morning at the sports center. The strain to the right thigh’s biceps femoris had forced him to miss several important games: the matches against Genoa and Atalanta in the league, the one against Venezia in the Coppa Italia, and the Italian Super Cup final against Bologna.

The Nerazzurri coach must now decide whether to field him immediately from the first minute or manage him cautiously after the forced break in the league match against the Emilians. The team resumed training today at Appiano, the day after the 1-0 victory at the New Balance Stadium in Bergamo. The return of Acerbi represents an extra option for Chivu ahead of the San Siro match that will mark the start of 2026.
