Chivu: “Lineup? The doubts were only yours, I was sure”

Speaking before the match of Atletico Madrid-Inter to the microphones of Prime Video, Cristian Chivu commented on tonight’s official choices regarding the Nerazzurri lineup on the field. These were his words: “In the Champions League all matches are complicated because the level is high. We know the importance of this match, we also know how difficult it will be but we are ready.”

LINEUP – “I don’t know what your doubts about the lineup were, but I never had any doubts. I was sure of what I could put on the field. On the right Carlos Augusto will play, up front Lautaro-Bonny, Zielinski, Calhanoglu and Barella are all in midfield.”

CHAMPIONS – “Matches in the Champions League are always difficult. To get points you need to put in great performances. So far we have accumulated 12 points, that’s not enough to finish among the top eight. We have to do even more and that’s why this is an important match, we know how difficult it is to play on this field but we will play it as the great team we are.”

LOCKER ROOM – “Godson in the locker room? I have two daughters who play football. Actually, I have many children because I care a lot about this group, just as I cared about those in Parma and all the boys I coached in the youth sector.”
