Chivu: “Goals conceded? We conceded seven like that”

A few minutes before the start of the match between Inter and Fiorentina for the ninth round of Serie A, the Nerazzurri coach Cristian Chivu spoke to the microphones of DAZN. These are the words of the Romanian coach about the problems the defense has encountered in these first matches of the championship.

MATCH – “We’ll see tonight how the performance will be to understand if we will react to the defeat. Self-control and self-discipline are needed to bring the performance required for the result onto the field.”

DEFENSE – “Of the eleven goals conceded, seven are against Juve and Napoli. Analyzing those goals, we could have done more and we are working on self-control to do a little more, to add something extra without focusing on individual mistakes. They were goals that could have been avoided if we analyze them.”

YOUNGSTERS – “It will be a difficult match because Fiorentina, apart from the standings, is in good shape and has the ambition to climb back up. We know they are tough and I expect a great performance from our players. I also expect to understand certain moments, I don’t want to put pressure on the youngsters. They are surrounded by experienced teammates who give great support and behave well, transmitting calmness and lightheartedness to the young players.”
