Inter’s start to the season has been very good: excellent in the Champions League with three great wins and only marred by two defeats in Serie A. Cristian Chivu’s team now wants to continue at this pace to stay at the top of the standings both in Italy and in Europe. There is a great statistic emerging about the Romanian coach.
As analyzed by Sport Mediaset, in his first 10 matches between Serie A and Champions League, the Inter coach has collected 24 points, an average of 2.4 points per match for Chivu. If you compare this with other coaches in Inter’s recent history, you’ll notice that he started better in the first 10 games than almost all of them in the debut season for a new Inter coach.
The former national team coach, Luciano Spalletti, in fact managed an average of 2.6 points in 2017/18, although it’s fair to say that Inter did not participate in European competitions that year.
