Chivu at the meeting with the refereeing officials

The first meeting between the refereeing leaders and the representatives of the Serie A clubs took place today in Lissone. Cristian Chivu was present for Inter: the coach arrived at the center together with other coaches including Gattuso, Abate, Amorim, Palladino, Pinzi, De Rossi, Fabregas, Aquilani, and Spalletti. Allegri was absent, sending Landucci in his place.

At the speakers’ table were the referee selector Orsato and the technical director Messina. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the first to speak was Ezio Simonelli, president of Lega Serie A: “Today is a meeting for exchanging opinions and information because we all know that the goal is to find uniformity and clarity. Do I like the new approach? Like all new things, it takes time, there are some critical points and we’ve seen that, but no nil-nil draws in five rounds and longer playing times certainly benefit the show.”

Simonelli added: “Certainly, we need to improve on some points to do better: strikers miss goals and, in short, I like this new approach but something still needs to be refined.” Luciano Spalletti was also present, entering quickly and asked about the new refereeing approach: “Yes,” replied the coach.
