Cristian Chivu took stock after the draw in the derby against Milan played in Australia. The coach gave an assessment of the match and the condition of the team, emphasizing how in August the physical condition cannot be at its peak.
“It’s a friendly, an August match where neither our condition nor theirs is at its best. You try to do good things and give everything you have even if your legs aren’t sharp,” the coach said to Sky Sport microphones. The priority for Chivu remains the health of the players, with the only concern related to Bisseck, who left the field due to a strong blow to the head.
The coach praised Pio and Bonny, acknowledging their contribution last season: “They showed it last year, they earned their place in this squad, they are champions of Italy: they are two young players with great talent and potential, we must not forget that they gave us a big hand.”
On the defensive front, the coach clarified the current numbers: “I’m talking about him, about Bisseck, about Bastoni and about Carlos Augusto, I’m talking about those who are here at the moment: we only have four, they are doing a great job and are giving their all. I’m happy for everyone because we managed to give them all more minutes.”
