Inter’s 3-0 victory over Fiorentina has somewhat swept some issues under the rug, regarding new protests over refereeing errors against the Nerazzurri. Chivu’s team in fact asked for a penalty in the match against the Viola for a foul by Comuzzo on Esposito. This is also the argument made by former Serie A referee Graziano Cesari, speaking to Sport Mediaset immediately after the match:
“It’s much more important than the first. I wonder how VAR Ghersini can support a decision by the referee that seems absolutely incorrect to me. Esposito tries to get into position and Comuzzo already starts off badly but then continues even worse. The defender turns away from the ball and has his right arm around the opponent’s neck. A chokehold? No, a big chokehold, I’d say an attempt at strangulation. It’s much worse than the first one.”
