Santiago Castro gave an extensive interview to Corriere dello Sport in which he spoke about his move from Bologna to Roma. The Argentine striker also dedicated ample space to Lautaro Martinez, a fellow countryman and a reference point in the role.

One of his nicknames is Torito, the same as the Inter captain. “Yes, but I am Santiago Castro and I want to be myself. Lautaro is a role model, a friend, but I want to follow my own path and above all I want to beat him in the next match against Inter. I have already seen the schedule, I will face him the day after my birthday: it will be a special challenge between two great teams that will fight until the end to win the championship,” he declared.

Asked about Roma‘s ambitions in the league, Castro did not hide: “Of course, I have seen the value of this group and we can compete with everyone. Because we have strong players in every department. We are at the level to compete for the Scudetto and for the Coppa Italia. And we want to do well in the Champions League. If you are at Roma you have to aim to win everything.”
