The transition from forward to full-back, the decisive role of Chivu in his development, and memories tied to Inter. Franco Carboni retraced the stages of his Nerazzurri training in an interview given to Gianluca Di Marzio.
“I arrived as a forward, then Conte played me as a left wing-back in training. If I am a full-back, though, it’s thanks to the journey with Chivu from the U18s to the Primavera. He taught me everything, and the 2022 Primavera Scudetto remains unforgettable, as does the call-up from Inzaghi for the Champions match against Liverpool. San Siro was full, champions on the pitch, and the shirt I swapped with Van Dijk that I keep at home. When I think about it, I still can’t believe it,” said the Argentine full-back.
Carboni then highlighted the leap from Playstation to reality: “I went from using Inter on PlayStation to actually playing for them. It seems normal when it happens, but now I find it hard to believe.” The bond with the club remains strong, also fueled by his relationship with Zanetti: “I often talk to him, there’s a good relationship and he has always been close to my family.”
Finally, words of praise for Lautaro: “He’s the best in Serie A for me, I always follow him and cheer for him with the national team. Sharing the locker room and receiving his advice is always an honor.”
