During the tour in Australia, Hakan Calhanoglu gave an in-depth interview to beIN Sports. The Turkish midfielder shared his impressions of the intercontinental trip and his relationship with the Nerazzurri fans scattered around the world.

“It’s always nice to see so many Inter fans around the world, we are far from Italy but for them it’s great to see us here. In Australia there are many fan clubs and they are incredible. The trip is very long but it’s nice here, it’s my first time in Australia,” said Calhanoglu.

Asked about the goal scored against Roma, number 20 explained his approach: “There are no secrets, everyone knows me. Even my teammates, before the match or during halftime, always tell me ‘if you have the chance to shoot, shoot’. I also recognize my quality, sometimes, when I’m free, I shoot on goal and sometimes it goes well.”

The Turk then fondly recalled the free kick scored against Dortmund: “The free kick against Dortmund, many years have passed but it’s a special goal for me.”

Finally, Calhanoglu analyzed the differences between the Italian and German leagues: “Two different styles, in Italy it’s more tactical and defensive, in Germany it was more offensive when I was there, maybe now it’s changed. It’s not easy to score in Italy, all the teams defend well, even the smaller ones.”
