One of the cornerstones of Inter, who deserves great credit for the team’s growth over recent years, both in European competitions and in Serie A, is surely coach Simone Inzaghi. Recently, the Nerazzurri’s chairman Beppe Marotta confirmed that an agreement on the coach’s contract renewal is close.

However, in the past, the Inter manager could have left his position after being approached by a couple of leading European clubs, according to information revealed by journalists from Il Giorno. Initially, it was PSG who showed interest in bringing in Inzaghi, although the French club eventually signed Luis Enrique instead.

Then, a year ago, it was the turn of Liverpool, whose managerial seat had become potentially vacant after Jurgen Klopp‘s decision to leave the team. Before reaching an agreement with Arne Slot, the English club explored the possibility of hiring Inzaghi, but the manager from Piacenza always gave his priority to Inter. Now, he is expected to formally renew his commitment to the Italian club.
