Thanks to last night’s victory at San Siro against Fiorentina, Inter has managed to get back on track for the Scudetto race – taking full advantage of Napoli’s two consecutive draws – and is now just a point behind Antonio Conte’s team who are at the top of the league.

Much will depend on the head-to-head clash in early March to be played at Maradona but the schedule is still very long and there are in fact still 14 matches to be played. A year ago, after 24 rounds, Inter had nine more points as they were at 63 points, while today they are at 54.

The goal of Simone Inzaghi and his team will be to try to retrace the same excellent path they took a year ago when in the last 14 rounds from the 25th to the 38th they managed to score a good 31 points. If they succeed, Inter would end the Serie A season with 87 points.

That’s quite a substantial sum that in 9 cases in the last 17 years of Italian championship, it has been enough to win the Scudetto. This statistic can therefore be a good omen for Inter, which has already amply demonstrated that it is a high level team that in Serie A can win a lot and redo the average points of the last games of last year.
