The chances of seeing Asllani from the first minute for the league match on Saturday, 23rd November between Verona and Inter are constantly increasing. The Albanian midfielder, thanks to the two matches he played in full with his national team, Albania, found his match rhythm again. Notably, he was one of the best in both matches, showing that he has found the right condition right away.
In view of Saturday’s match, due to the injury suffered by Calhanoglu with Turkey, Asllani is favored to start ahead of the defense in Inter’s midfield. The final decision, however, will be made by Simone Inzaghi, who will meet him in the next few hours at Appiano Gentile. The former Empoli player discussed all of this in an interview given on Sportmediaset after Albania-Ukraine.
BACK ON THE FIELD – I am happy because I have not been available in the last month due to a knee problem. I arrived in the national team with a lot of doubts, I did not think I would even play the first one and I am happy to have played 90 minutes twice. I thank the coach because he talks to me every time I come, he has helped me grow in many aspects.
ROLE IN THE NATIONAL TEAM – Here I often play as half when we play with three, but today we have two so I was playing in the low play. But not much changes, because even when I play half I take the ball between the two centers. Let’s say I can do all the roles in the midfield for sure, but I have always been a playmaker in front of the defense and I prefer to play there.
STARTING IN VERONA – Calhanoglu’s injury? I don’t know, we will see. I try to work hard every day, then what comes comes.
OPPORTUNITY – I feel I have grown a lot since last year. What I am given, even ten or twenty minutes, I try to make the most of it. Because in the end I am still 22 years old.
OBJECTIVES – We are Inter, we must win and bring trophies home, but we want to be protagonists in the Champions League as well. Inter must win.
LEAGUE FIGHT – The biggest rival of Inter? I do not know, but in this championship there are very strong teams, who have made great moves in the market and play to win. We won last year, so it’s tough to repeat, but we’re training hard. It’s hard, but we’re training even harder than last year because we have clear objectives.
