Nine days before the much-anticipated derby that will see Inter and Milan face each other for the first time this season, a bad piece of news arrives for the Nerazzurri coach Cristian Chivu. During one of the latest training sessions with the Dutch national team, Denzel Dumfries had to stop due to an injury. However, the Nerazzurri player has not yet returned to Milan.
The fact that Dumfries has remained in the training camp with his national team is encouraging because it means that his physical problem might not be serious. However, from the Netherlands they have already announced that the winger, born in 1996, will not play in the next match for the Oranje, which will be against the Polish national team of Piotr Zielinski.
The fear for Chivu and Inter fans is that this setback suffered by Dumfries in training could be a hindrance ahead of the derby against Milan to be played next Sunday. In the coming hours, contacts are expected between the Nerazzurri medical staff and that of the Dutch national team.
