The institutional meeting held a few days ago in Rome to discuss the new stadium showed significant progress: Inter and Milan could build a new stadium in the San Siro area, by buying the current Meazza and committing to refitting it.
Many of the future steps of the two clubs will depend on the economic evaluation of the Meazza that will soon be officially announced by the Revenue Agency. According to rumors collected by La Gazzetta dello Sport, in any case, the figure will be around 200 million euros.
The focus is on the position of the two clubs. The Inter sees this price as a figure that can be explored, even though it is slightly higher than what they considered fair. Milan, on the other hand, believes the figure is too high, especially since it has already allocated and accounted for 40 million euros for the San Donato area, where a dedicated red-and-black stadium could be built.
In any case, we will have to wait for official confirmation from the Revenue Agency. Then it will be time for decisions, while being aware that work on the current Meazza could only start in the second half of 2026, considering that the opening ceremony of the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics is scheduled in the same stadium at the beginning of the year.
