Another great victory achieved by Inter against a team from the upper part of the table fighting for Europe. 1) Spectacular, dominant performance, from a great team. Inter gets a significant revenge against a Bologna that had recently become a real bogey team. One of the best matches of the season for consistency, intensity, and quality. It’s just a pity about that late goal, because this game could easily have ended 5-0. And if it didn’t, much of the credit goes to their goalkeeper, probably the best player on the pitch.
2) Napoli and Milan had won, all the pressure was on Inter. And the response was that of a mature team, one that doesn’t tremble but raises the stakes. Inter remains at the top of the table in a round that probably marks the first real split between the top three and the rest of the group. When expectations rise, this team raises its level.
3) What a match did Lautaro Martinez play? It’s true, two chances could have been managed better, but we’re talking about a game from a total leader, one that goes beyond the goal. Top scorer in Serie A, sixth goal in the last five matches, scoring in five consecutive games. He runs, presses, links up play, drags his teammates: this is the best possible version of the captain.
4) On Bologna‘s goal, reviewing it, there are no major faults from Sommer. You can always ask a bit more from the goalkeeper, but the problem starts earlier: you can’t let a striker head the ball alone five meters from the goal. The defensive line has to intervene there, not a miracle from the goalkeeper.
5) The final question remains on the table: does this Inter need another winger? Joao Cancelo would be a dream, perhaps not realistic, but the concept is clear: another quality winger is needed, absolutely. Because with this level of play and these ambitions, having one more option on the flanks can make the difference in the details that decide titles.
