A few days ago, a great transfer session closed for Inter, who managed to achieve their first major goal of keeping all their big players. The Nerazzurri club, on the other hand, limited its inbound activity to bolstering an already strong roster with experienced and talented additions: along with two free transfers, Zielinski and Taremi, two promising youngsters – Josep Martinez and Tomas Palacios – were also added to Simone Inzaghi’s lineup.
Inter’s work primarily focused on outgoings, where some young players who were seen as an integral part of the Nerazzurri project were sold. One method often utilized by the club in recent years has been sell-on clauses, which gives Inter a percentage of any future sale.
Let’s now update the list of all the players who have passed through the club and on whom Inter retains a percentage in case of future sale. Starting with the new departees:
– Lucien Agoumé: The French midfielder was sold to Sevilla for 4 million euros. Inter kept 50% of any future resale, with a twist: from next season, the Spaniards can reduce the percentage to 10% by paying approximately an additional 4 million to the Nerazzurri.
– Gaetano Oristanio: After a loan to Cagliari, the class 2002 player moved to Venezia for 4 million euros. Inter will receive a percentage of any future resale of the player, the exact amount of which is unknown.
– Mattia Zanotti: The young full-back also permanently left Inter for 2.5 million euros. Should a future sale occur, Lugano will be obliged to pay a percentage to the Nerazzurri.
– Facundo Colidio: The Argentine striker, who moved to River Plate last summer for 4.5 million euros, will guarantee Inter a percentage in case of a future resale.
– Valentino Lazaro: Inter will also receive a percentage in case of a future sale of the Austrian player, who moved to Torino a year ago for 3.4 million euros.
– Darian Males: Inter will be entitled to 20% of any future resale of the striker, who was sold in the summer of 2023 for 2 million euros to Young Boys, Inter’s opponents in the next Champions League championship phase.
– Gabriel Barbosa: Incredibly, Inter still retains a 10% percentage on the next sale of Gabigol. However, the Flamengo center-forward’s contract will expire on 31 December 2024, finally rendering Inter’s option null and void.
