In the past hours, Inter’s vice-president Javier Zanetti gave an interview to the Argentinian journalists at TyCSports. During this conversation, the former captain and Nerazzurri legend also answered some questions about the club’s transfer market plans, particularly relating to targets from the reigning World Champion Argentina national team.
Zanetti responded as follows to a question about Christian Romero, the Tottenham defender and former Genoa player, who is standing out wearing the Argentina national jersey: It’s not easy; he’s a player who costs a lot, and sustainability at Inter is a fundamental aspect. Yet, who wouldn’t want Argentina national team players in their squad? For me, Romero is a complete defender, and I’m glad Argentina can rely on a leader like him whom I really appreciate. His personality is essential and should be underlined.
Another inevitable topic was Santiago Castro, another Argentine talent regularly linked with Inter, who is impressing in Serie A with Bologna. Zanetti emphasized his qualities: Castro is doing very well at Bologna. Besides the goals he may score, it’s evident he’s always a dangerous attacker and has huge potential for growth. I believe young talents who emerge are always followed by the world’s best clubs.
