Inter‘s concentration at this moment of the season is undoubtedly focused on the fight for the Scudetto and their path in the two knockout competitions, the Coppa Italia and the Champions League. However, the management of the Nerazzurri club is already busy working on the plans for next season.
The Nerazzurri indeed need to renew their squad by reducing its average age, and for this reason the futures of two experienced defenders such as Stefan De Vrij and Francesco Acerbi are uncertain, as it is not guaranteed that both will remain at Inter next season. However, their agent Federico Pastorello doesn’t seem to agree, as expressed in his recent interview with TMW:
Considering the way they are playing, I believe there should be no doubts about their futures. We will wait for the decision from the club, the coach and the directors: it’s up to them, as the contract extension options are in their favor. There are technical timelines that must be respected. However, I think the guys are proving on the pitch that they deserve confirmation, something both clearly want. If the decisions are different, we’ll respect them, and I’m convinced the players will be thankful either way. Stefan has been at Inter for several years already, Francesco a bit less, but both have experienced plenty of satisfaction and emotions. These are decisions made by Inter, and we’ll calmly accept them.
