Despite repeated attempts by Como to convince Real Madrid to let Nico Paz stay at least another season, Inter has not yet abandoned the idea of signing the talented Argentine playmaker next summer. For this reason, the Nerazzurri club intends to make further contact with the Blancos to better understand the margins of a possible negotiation.
As reported this morning by the Corriere dello Sport, the initiative for this deal is largely driven by Javier Zanetti, a long-standing friend of the player’s father, Pablo Paz. This relationship has facilitated Inter’s initial approach towards Nico, pending further talks also with Florentino Perez’s club.
The Nerazzurri club aims to clarify the real intentions of Real Madrid regarding the talented class of 2004 player, currently undecided between Inter’s option and the alternative of staying another year under Fabregas. In case there is no positive outcome, Inter has already identified a backup plan in their dealings with the Spanish club: this is Arda Guler, a profile already assessed by the Nerazzurri and one for whom fellow countryman Calhanoglu is ready to give his guarantee.
