Inter Primavera continues to produce excellent midfielders. Some of them, like Cesare Casadei, now at Torino, or Giovanni Fabbian, transferred last year to Bologna, are already quite popular. Here at Passione Inter, we’ve had the opportunity to discover and introduce you to others who stood out last season, such as Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, Issiaka Kamate, Luca Di Maggio, and Aleksandar Stankovic. Among these talents, after impressing also in pre-season, there is Thomas Berenbruch.

Who is Thomas Berenbruch

Thomas Berenbruch was born in Milan on 31 May 2005. He started playing for Acd Brianza Cernusco Merate and later joined Renate, a club that has maintained excellent relations with Inter for a long time. After scouting him, the Nerazzurri decided to sign him and loaned him out for one year before bringing him into their Under-16 team. From that moment, his progress in Inter’s youth ranks began. With the Under-17 side, he achieved his first successes, scoring 7 goals and providing 3 assists in 22 appearances. Two years ago, he reached double figures with the Under-18s, accumulating 10 goals and 9 assists in 27 matches, performances that firmly established him in the Primavera squad. Last season, playing with the U19 team, Berenbruch confirmed his prolific nature by scoring 11 goals across all competitions. This season, he has started off very well: in addition to his three goals in the Primavera championship, he delivered an extraordinary brace against Manchester City in the Youth League.

Berenbruch Transfermarkt

Thomas Berenbruch, born in 2005, might genuinely represent the future for Inter. Currently, according to Transfermarkt, his market valuation is around 700 thousand euros, but the impression is that by the end of the season this figure could significantly rise. The Italian midfielder has a contract with the club that expires in June 2028 following a recent renewal signed last February 2024.

Who is Thomas Berenbruch: Skills and characteristics

Berenbruch began his career as an attacking midfielder. A left-footed player with considerable quality, he has always played close to goal due to his ability to find the net or provide crucial assists. As previously happened under coach Chivu, he also plays mainly as a mezzala central midfielder under Zanchetta. The playing style of Inter Primavera largely relies on the involvement of midfielders, their offensive runs into the box, and their overlaps with the wingers in the 4-3-3 formation. With players of his quality in midfield, everything becomes simpler. He also possesses excellent dribbling skills, and he is frequently seen gliding gracefully through the middle of the pitch to reach the edge of the box, seeking a goal-scoring chance or providing the key pass.

Berenbruch’s Future at Inter

Coach Simone Inzaghi, known for his appreciation of midfielders, has already noticed and included him within the first-team ranks, as seen during the latest summer training camp. Born in 2005, he seized this chance to learn from his idol, Henrikh
