Tonight, Inter will play the remaining minutes of the postponed match – the 14th round of the championship originally dated December 1 – against Fiorentina at Franchi. Ironically though, the schedule already includes the return match on Monday night at San Siro at 20:45, valid for the 24th day of Serie A.
The AIA announced the referee appointments for this match at Inter’s home ground this morning. Federico La Penna from the Rome section has been appointed as referee. The match director from Rome will be assisted by assistants Scatragli and Moro, while the fourth official will be Ayroldi. In the VAR room, there will be Meraviglia and his assistant Fabbri.
The precedents of La Penna in Inter‘s matches are very good, but there has been no win for 4 years now. After five initial victories by the Nerazzurri with the referee from Lazio, indeed there came the defeat in the Coppa Italia by Bologna and the 1-1 draw against Napoli in Serie A, both in the last season. The last Inter success with this referee dates back to February 5, 2021 right a match against Fiorentina.
