Speaking to DAZN after the end of Inter-Parma, a match at the 15th round of Serie A won quite convincingly by the Nerazzurri, Simone Inzaghi commented on the victory and the performance of his team.
These are his words:
THURAM’S GOAL – Thuram’s goal? At the end of the first half, my assistants and I had told him that because he was attacking the first post. Beyond this goal, which closed the match, the boys did great, because Parma is an excellent team that had only lost away to Napoli. We interpreted it well and I’m satisfied.
PERFORMANCE – The two goals by Dimarco and Barella were two great goals. Then Lautaro must continue to work as he has done. He made a backtrack in the 90th minute that is a great sign from a captain. I’m pleased with the performance and sorry that he didn’t manage to score. The only regret is having conceded that goal, which the team didn’t deserve, for the attention and focus they put on the field.
DARMIAN – I was talking with Darmian about the own goal. He was upset because he’s a perfectionist. But the mistake was made upstream and he’s probably the least to blame for all that action.
BARELLA – Barella, in my 3 years, has had great seasons, but last year, which had fewer goals, in my opinion, was his best.
WORLD CUP – Clearly we’ll try to do our best. Looking at the draw, I was thinking about how far these guys have come in the past 3 and a half years, because it had been 10 years since we hadn’t made it to the last 16 of the Champions League, and bringing Inter to the Club World Cup is a great satisfaction to share with the staff, society and players. We have made a final, two last 16s and will probably have a good run this year as well. Seeing where we’ve got is a great satisfaction and it’s the reward for the work.
CORREA – Correa is doing very well, he’s working well and in my opinion he’s back to being the player we all know. He must continue like this. The competition is manyfold, because Arnautovic and Taremi also deserved to come in. Someone else could have come on, but I let Lautaro play the last part of the game because I wanted him to find the goal.
