Jonathan David remains a strong candidate as a new forward for Inters upcoming summer transfer market. The Canadian striker is a coveted free agent, since – barring any shocking turns – he will not renew his expiring contract with Lille, and the black and blue club has been in contact with his management for some time.
However, the competition for the Class of 2000 player is robust, with Italys Juventus also seriously considering him, in addition to foreign clubs such as Atletico Madrid and the usual Premier League teams.
David is a name that appeals to various areas of Inter and therefore must be considered a concrete target. As per the appreciation of Oaktree as a new offensive sensation, the Canadian would also be highly beneficial from a technical standpoint and therefore to coach Simone Inzaghi, for at least two reasons.
According to Tuttosport, his skills make him suitable for acting as both a first and second striker in Inzaghis offensive pair, making him ideal for playing with all the strikers currently on the team excluding Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa, who will depart at the end of the season. In light of the impending contract expirations, the second reason is that David would form a super attacking quartet with Lautaro Martinez, Marcus Thuram, and Mehdi Taremi, providing Inzaghi with an offensive abundance in terms of reliability previously unknown in his years in Milan.
