This evening at the Meazza, on the fourth matchday of the Europa League, Lorenzo Torriani will defend the goal for Milan as a starter against Ferencvaros. The goalkeeper, born in 2005, is called upon to replace Maignan, who is suspended after being sent off in the defeat against Bournemouth.
His presence on the field tonight is an opportunity to revisit a behind-the-scenes story revealed by the Gazzetta dello Sport: in his early steps in football, the qualities of the young goalkeeper from Vimodrone had attracted the attention of Inter scouts. The Nerazzurri had requested detailed information and tried to convince him to cross to the other side of the Naviglio.
The attempt, however, was unsuccessful. Torriani, a Rossoneri fan, decided to remain loyal to his favorite team, choosing to tie himself to the Rossoneri colors.
Already seen in action during the summer friendlies, including the Australian derby, the young goalkeeper will take the field as a starter in the match against Ferencvaros, scheduled for the fourth round of the Europa League.
