Speaking to Sky Sport, Fabio Capello analyzed the match between Inter and Club Brugge, valid for the second round of the Champions League, emphasizing the need for the Nerazzurri to bring home points.
“The important thing is to understand how they returned from the national team,” said Capello. “The South Americans suffer a bit more. Chivu did well to rest Lautaro in the league. It will be nice to watch these matches: the Champions doesn’t allow you to overthink, you have to play with intensity because the Champions League is all about intensity.”
The former coach then warned about the possible Belgian threat: “Club Brugge hopes to be underestimated, a bit like what happened last year.” A warning that concerns the mental condition and approach to the match more than the technical qualities of the opponents.
At the center of the tactical reasoning is the role of Çalhanoğlu: “It’s fundamental for Inter to get points, the standings are dire. Calhanoglu is too important, he balances the play and the midfield, he must be on the pitch.”
