Paolo Sammarco, coach of Lumezzane, spoke to Sky Sport microphones after the friendly played in Appiano against Inter. The coach expressed satisfaction with the test faced by his boys, highlighting the effort put in by the team.

“It was a tough test, we defended a lot, the boys worked hard. We are satisfied, we rotated the players and gave everyone a chance to play. It was a prestigious friendly and everyone wanted to play. We go home with excellent insights, it was good work that we take home,” he declared.

The Lumezzane coach then praised the facilities at the Nerazzurri sports center. “There are incredible facilities here, worthy of such an important club that aims to win in Italy and beyond. Congratulations to them and thanks for the invitation. For us it was a pleasure to come here. As far as I’m concerned, I do my job. We try to do our best to take our boys as high as possible.”

Sammarco then analyzed Inter’s performance. “Inter moves the ball very well, those who play often change position on the field. Surely they have different engines compared to us. It was tough, they are in great shape and I think it will be tough for the others.”

Particular appreciation went to Henrikh Mkhitaryan. “Who impressed me the most? Mkhitaryan, for the professional he is, for how he plays at this level at his age. Even today, flashes of great football,” explained the coach.

Finally, a comment dedicated to Djed Spence, making his debut in the Nerazzurri shirt. “He’s a guy with a great engine, he’s very fast, probably still lacking a bit of fitness. The boy will definitely be able to help.”
