Zenga on the writing against Baresi: it represents their own misery

Walter Zenga expressed his outrage over the vandalism of the mural dedicated to Franco Baresi at Casa Milan. The former Inter and Italian National Team goalkeeper, who had already spoken out on social media during the protests by Juventus fans during the minute of silence for Sandro Mazzola, wanted to take a stand this time as well with a public message.

“Franco Baresi was an opponent, a teammate in the National Team, a captain and above all a man who gave dignity to Italian football. Defacing his image does not only offend Milan or its fans. It offends the history of our football and everyone who still knows what the word respect means,” wrote the Spider-Man on Instagram.

The former Nerazzurri number one went on to strongly condemn the act: “Whoever did this does not represent any fan base. He represents only himself and his own misery. Jerseys divide. Respect must unite us. Always. Franco is untouchable.”

The person responsible for the defacement could soon be identified, as there are surveillance cameras in the Casa Milan area.
