Roma-Inter, throw-in reversed before the 2-0: Chivu was right

The second goal by Roma against Inter, scored in the 37th minute, originated from a controversial episode. Just seconds before the goal, the referee awarded a throw-in to the Giallorossi that should have gone to the Nerazzurri instead.

Chivu immediately noticed and protested to Maresca, pointing out that Molina was the last to touch the ball: “He touched it, he put his foot in,” said the Nerazzurri coach to the referee. The coach then turned to the same Giallorossi winger, laughing, and Molina also responded with a smile.

The replay images, as reported by BordoCAM of DAZN, however, confirm Chivu’s version: the Roma winger was indeed the last to touch the ball. The throw-in was still awarded to the home team, who kept possession and finished the action with the goal to make it 2-0.

A detail missed by many during Saturday night’s match, which influenced the key episode of the game.
