According to Corriere dello Sport, the 2-2 draw achieved at the Olimpico against Roma bears the signature of Cristian Chivu. Inter came back from 0-2 to the final result, demonstrating a capacity for reaction that the newspaper attributes to the work of the Romanian coach.
“Turning around the attitude and spirit of a team as happened during the halftime at the Olimpico is not a given,” the article reads. “It probably would have been easier to trigger a primarily nervous reaction, therefore potentially confused and disorganized and not necessarily effective. Inter, instead, on Roma’s field and two goals down, came back onto the pitch fierce, determined to give everything. But also more organized, more attentive, more focused, differently from how they had started the match.”
Corriere dello Sport recalls an episode from last season that explains the team’s transformation. “Just a year ago, when Inter lost away to Juventus after being overtaken in the final minutes, Chivu was furious: he couldn’t accept his players’ carelessness in managing the ball, because at the moment when a saber was needed, too many had used the foil.”
After that match, the newspaper continues, that kind of attitude from Inter was never seen again. The Nerazzurri team currently occupies first place in the standings together with Roma and Lazio.
