The director of Corriere dello Sport Zazzaroni gave an overview of the first five matchdays of Serie A, focusing on the teams that have shown the most interesting qualities in this early stage of the season.
Among the positive surprises, Zazzaroni highlighted the progress of Lazio, first in the standings with 13 points out of a possible 15. “In the summer, no one imagined that after 5 matchdays they could find themselves deservedly at the top with 13 points out of 15. Congratulations to Rino who, despite two thousand difficulties not only related to the environment, managed to rejuvenate players (Nuno, Noslin, Belahyane, Mandas) and the standings, showing effective football.”
On the Nerazzurri front, the journalist emphasized how Inter has demonstrated its strength, despite some defensive lapses. “Inter has confirmed its superiority despite the number of goals conceded (even last year Chivu took some time to reduce the number of errors). Lautaro is a unique spectacle for determination, attitude, and productivity.”
According to Zazzaroni, Roma is instead the most convincing team in terms of play, together with Como. The director identified Malen, Dybala, Koné, and Svilar as the pillars of a team that expresses aggressiveness and quality.
Among the other positive notes of the championship, the journalist mentioned Frosinone under Alvini, Cagliari under Pisacane, and Fiorentina under Vanoli, teams that started the season with results above expectations.
