The Nerazzurri moment analyzed by an exceptional fan. Paolo Bonolis, television host and die-hard Inter supporter, spoke on the eve of the Olimpico clash between Roma and Inter in an interview given to the newspaper La Repubblica. Living as an Inter fan in the capital has never been a problem for him, despite the teasing: “Obviously, since everyone knows me, the teasing is off the charts. We lose and I get the message: I want to see if you come down to the bar tomorrow…”.
The host also recalled a particular episode experienced at the stadium: “I was sitting quietly at the Olimpico and I hear a whistle to my left. It was a small red pizza, thrown at me but it hit a kid in the row below. Who ate it anyway.” When he tried to react against those responsible, a security staff member stopped him and brought him back to his seat.
On the technical side, Bonolis expressed concern about the defensive phase: “More than anything, it’s about these goals we’ve conceded lately. Let’s say there’s been a lot of recklessness.” On the goalkeeper, he added: “There’s a bit of concern, but those saves after the mistake in Madrid still earn Martinez a bit of trust.”
Regarding the opponents, in addition to Malen, the host pointed out other key Roma players: “I’d say Mancini, Ndicka, and also Balerdi.” On Stones, who arrived in the summer, he commented: “I have the impression that if Stones didn’t have this injury problem, there’s no way they would have sold him to us.”
When asked for a prediction, the answer was as a fan: “As a fan, yes,” he would settle for a draw, but he clarified, “if I were a player on the field, not a chance.”
