Javier Zanetti was present in Monte Carlo to attend the UEFA draws that determined Inter‘s European opponents. The Nerazzurri vice president made some statements to TNT Sports’ microphones, commenting both on the challenges awaiting the team and on the transfer market speculations regarding Lautaro Martinez.
“Feelings? Positive. We will face great rivals like Real, Liverpool, Borussia. For Inter, the CL is always a very important competition, fundamental. And we hope to go very far,” declared Zanetti.
Asked about the possibility of playing another final after losing two in recent years, the former captain replied: “Why not? There is always a desire for revenge. We came very close, we missed it by very little: but that’s football. We hope to have another chance.”
Finally, the executive commented on the rumors linking Lautaro to Barcelona: “Lautaro is happy at Inter, he is content and happy. And the truth is that he is our captain.”
