Inter is preparing for the away match against Cagliari with the aim of building on their victory over Monza in the first matchday of the league. Coach Chivu seems inclined to confirm the same eleven that successfully debuted at San Siro.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the attacking duo of Lautaro and Pio Esposito should be fielded again. The young striker, who scored a backheel goal on his debut, is favored over Marcus Thuram to partner the Nerazzurri captain. The new signings, on the other hand, will have to wait a bit longer before making their debut.
Djed Spence continues to work individually at Pinetina and has not yet trained with the group. The winger, who arrived after missing the entire summer preparation due to the World Cup and holidays, is looking for his best condition and is continuing with a personalized program.
The situation is different for Stones and Jones, both ready to be called up. The former has already made his Serie A debut against Monza and is competing for a spot with Bisseck, who currently seems to have the edge. The latter has presented himself to the staff in excellent shape and could come on during the match.
Sucic, Stankovic, and Mkhitaryan are also available and represent fresh options in midfield for Sunday evening’s match in Sardinia.
