Crespo praises Inter’s attack: interchangeable and decisive

The attack of Inter represents the most complete department in Serie A. Hernan Crespo is convinced of this, as he praised the work of Chivu and the qualities of the four forwards available to the Romanian coach.

“A big round of applause must go to Chivu, who has managed to organize the play to put his strikers in the best possible conditions,” said the former striker to the Gazzetta dello Sport. Crosses from the wings, central penetrations, interplay with midfielders, sudden vertical passes, and attacking the space: the complete repertoire to make the offensive tandem work.

“What do I particularly like about the attack? The fact that they are interchangeable. Let me explain: there is a hierarchy, of course, but all four know how to do everything. Lautaro, Thuram, Pio Esposito, and Bonny are complementary. They all adapt well to the team’s play,” Crespo explained.

The Argentine then revealed his preferences: “Lautaro is my favorite, I’ll be honest, and not just because he’s Argentine like me. He has superior quality, you can see it. But I also have great respect for Marcus Thuram, whom I saw grow up as a child during my time at Parma. He has speed, dribbling, and cleverness inside the penalty area. Moreover, which is not to be underestimated, he is generous: he makes himself available to the group and his strike partner.”

On Esposito’s latest performance, Crespo showed enthusiasm but also caution: “He has the qualities to become a champion, but we mustn’t put too much pressure on him or place too many expectations on him, otherwise we risk losing him. He’s good with his feet, his head, and in acrobatics, good at linking up with teammates. Now, as I follow him closely, I want to see the next step: he needs to become consistent in his performances.”

Finally, on Bonny: “He has impressive physical qualities and a technical ability in tight spaces that makes opponents’ heads spin. Do you understand why I consider Inter’s attack the most complete in Serie A? There isn’t one of the four who doesn’t guarantee a significant contribution, in terms of goals and plays.”
