Champions League 2026/27, draw on August 27: all the dates up to the final

On Thursday, August 27 at 6:00 PM, the draw for the 2026/27 League Phase of the Champions League will take place in Monte Carlo. This is the third edition with the single-league format, introduced in the 2024/25 season. The 36 qualified teams will be placed in a single ranking.

Inter gained access thanks to winning the Scudetto 2025/26: it will be the ninth consecutive year that the Nerazzurri will take part in the top European competition. Currently, 29 teams have already qualified for the league phase, while during this week the seven playoff winners will be added.

The 36 participants will be divided into four pots according to the coefficient ranking. Among the first pot teams are Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, Inter, Manchester City, Arsenal, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid. In the following pots there are also Roma, Napoli, Como, Borussia Dortmund, Sporting Lisbon, Porto, Manchester United, RB Leipzig, Shakhtar Donetsk, and other European teams.

In the League Phase, each team will face eight different opponents, four at home and four away. The results will form a single ranking: the top eight teams will advance directly to the round of 16, while teams from ninth to twenty-fourth place will play an additional playoff. The remaining teams will be eliminated.

The first matchday of the single-league phase is scheduled between September 8 and 10, 2026, with the last on January 27, 2027. The detailed calendar will be announced by Saturday, August 29. Below are all the dates of the League Phase: 1st matchday September 8-9-10, 2nd matchday October 13-14, 3rd matchday October 20-21, 4th matchday November 3-4, 5th matchday November 24-25, 6th matchday December 8-9, 7th matchday January 19-20, 2027, 8th matchday January 27, 2027.

The playoffs will be played on February 16-17 (first leg) and February 23-24 (second leg). Afterwards, the draw will be held to determine the pairings from the round of 16 onwards. The round of 16 is scheduled for March 9-10 (first leg) and March 16-17 (second leg), the quarterfinals for April 6-7 (first leg) and April 13-14 (second leg), the semifinals for April 27-28 (first leg) and May 4-5 (second leg). The final will be played on Saturday, June 5 at the Estadio Metropolitano in Madrid.
