Coppa Italia, the lineup of opponents for the round of 32 has been defined

The Coppa Italia 2026/27 has entered its crucial phase with the preliminary round played over the weekend, which concluded this evening. The tournament features the team led by Cristian Chivu, the reigning champion and one of the eight seeded teams, ready to enter the competition from the round of 16, scheduled between December and January.

The format features a single-elimination bracket with knockout matches up to the quarterfinals, while the semifinals will be played over two legs, home and away. In the preliminary round, Ascoli defeated Potenza 3-1, while Arezzo and Benevento eliminated Union Brescia and Ravenna respectively. There was a surprise in Vicenza, where Catania qualified on penalties.

The opponent for the Nerazzurri will come from the clash between the winners of Genoa-Ascoli and Catanzaro–Sudtirol, matches scheduled for Sunday, August 16. The round of 32 match will be played between Wednesday, September 2 and Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
